About Me

My name is Ryan Shea and I was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. From a young age, I was involved in many competitive sports but took a liking to hockey especially. As I grew up and became more competitive in the sport I was required to see a physical therapist for various injuries and assessments. It was at this point, around the age of 12, when I was diagnosed with scoliosis or an abnormal curvature in my spine. In order to reduce the risk of injury while playing hockey, I was referred to a personal trainer, and my love for the gym was born.

I continued to play hockey until the age of 20 when I was forced quit due to excessive head injuries. After training for years to improve my performance on the ice, I felt lost without a purpose or goal when I entered the gym. Funny enough it was actually Morgan who approached me one day at the gym and suggested that I try competing in a show later that year. He saw potential in me that I didn’t know I had, and from there a new passion was formed.

With a sports background and passion for fitness, completing my B.Sc. Kinesiology at Memorial University was an easy decision. This degree provided me with the knowledge and experience to train individuals based on their goals and physical abilities. It has also allowed me to adopt a more scientific approach to my own training, and become a better bodybuilder both inside and outside of the gym.

After competing in my first show in 2019, my eyes were opened to the importance of nutrition and its effect on training performance and recovery. Upon this realization, I enrolled in Precision Nutrition to become certified and further my knowledge in nutrition coaching.

Through online coaching, I hope to share my knowledge and experience with others, so that they may reap the many benefits which health and fitness has to offer.
